In late 2014, Ralston’s friend and colleague Richy Axl reached out to him to discuss the creation of a YouTube channel centered on art.Â
During this time, the tragic Charlie Hebdo massacre of January 7, 2015 occurred in Paris resulting in the deaths of 12 people, 8 of which were cartoonists. To contrast the recent attack to the popular Parisian artists of Montmartre, the show’s name was named in their honor.Â
It was created as a safe place for artists and those interested in art to co-exist and learn from each other.
The show’s logo was created by Designer, James E. Walker and the show’s theme song, “Walking Away”, was created by Hold On Hollywood.
The show contained episodes that featured news, advice, and an interview with a special guest. These guests were creative professionals who would discuss their experiences and insight within their respective field.Â
Ralston and Axl would often document their journeys with vlogs while on trips. Their trips brought them to Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, and Baton Rouge. Â
Along their journeys, Ralston and Axl were also privileged to visit some very special locations. They were given special access to Warner Bros. Studios, Warner Bros. Animation Studios, Disney Animation Studios, The Artist’s Guild of California, a private screening with PIXAR at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, an audition for MTV’s The Real World, and as guest speakers at The Art Institute of Hollywood.
Sadly, Axl received an amazing career opportunity in Los Angeles and needed to relocate. Shortly after, the pair decided to put the show on a hiatus.
Ralston and Axl still actively communicate and work together.Â
